• Seeking a PhD researcher with expertise in groundwater, climatology or meteorology, interested in tackling the question:
• What weather events replenish groundwater and how do climate influences change this?
• Using our novel Australian cave observatories of recharge events
• Our aim is to provide regional stakeholders with the first weather forecast for groundwater recharge over different timescales
• The position is available now based at UNSW Sydney Australia. The stipend is $39,206 plus $10,000 top-up scholarship per year, 3 to 4 years, plus generous training and conference support packages. The position is open to both domestic and international applicants. International candidates will have to apply for a Tuition Fee Scholarship
• The supervision team is Andy Baker and Andrea Taschetto (UNSW), Gabriel Rau and Danielle Verdon-Kidd (University of Newcastle) and Margaret Shanafield (Flinders University).
• Admission requirements: a first class Honours degree or equivalent (e.g. a research masters such as MSc with good GPA) within the last 5 years; evidence of research experience and outputs in the subject area (e.g. papers in SCOPUS listed journals, industry research experience)
